Wireless Power Transfer
Our wireless power transfer solutions involve the synergy of various complimentary technologies. Suprock Technologies has demonstrated solutions in well-founded methodologies such as resonant coupling as well as our own power beaming techniques.
One example is the use of metal halide plasmas to efficiently generate a source of photons which can be directed in a beam at semiconductor receivers with tuned band gaps. This allows a more efficient method of producing photons vs monochromatic sources such as laser diodes. Power is received on a similar principal to a solar photovoltaic cell, making the technology capable of harvesting incident light as well as directed beam from our plasma sources. This technology is referred to as "Terahertz" power beaming because of the frequency range of photons generated by the plasma source.
We also specialize in solving problems associated with traditional methods of power coupling. For instance, we have developed solutions to magnetically couple resonators intersected by large bodies of magnetic steel. Typically ferrous materials suscept power from magnetic fields and expend the energy as eddy currents and magnetic hysteresis. This is an exciting step for the success of resonant coupling on rotating machinery (typically composed of ferrous materials) such as end milling tools.
